New xb7 gateway optimization. I recently got a new xb7 gateway with 1gbps speed plan. My issue is with WiFi settings. I know I am getting close to 1gbps on my wired devices but WiFi is close to 200-400 mbps. Are there any WiFi settings I could tweak in order to get faster WiFi speeds? There isn't one. After 2 1/2 hours banging on this with Xfinity yesterday to finally be told it is what it is for now. Xfinity has hijacked the manual configuration options for both 2.4 and 5ghz channels and there is no indication xfinity is going to let end users change any settings for channels or bandwidth options for either radio. I noticed the channel wifi channel is on a channel that wasnt used on the xb6. The channel right now is 42 and on the xb6 it was a much higher channel which made for much faster speeds. I can't change the channel since xfinity ...I just installed an XB7 gateway. It works fine, but I can’t find a user manual for it. A Comcast rep says my XB7 is an ARRIS TG4482A, and the Software page on the gateway web server (10.0.0.1) seems to confirm this. The only XB7 docs I’ve found on the Comcast site are a PDF of the “What’s in the box” card that came with the XB7, and ....
